Frequently Asked Questions About Dr. Jasna

Dr. Jasna Jamal Shaju is the Medical Director and founder of Dr. Jasna's Ayurveda Clinic in Dubai. She is an Ayurveda General Physician licensed by the Ministry of Health UAE and the Dubai Health Authority, and a registered medical practitioner with TCMC Kerala, India. She has more than 20 years of clinical experience in India and the UAE.

Dr. Jasna holds a BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurveda Medicine and Surgery) from Government Ayurveda College, Thripunithura, Kochi, under Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, India. She began practising soon after graduating and has worked in hospitals and clinics in both India and the UAE for more than 20 years.

An Ayurvedic doctor assesses your condition using Ayurvedic principles, such as your body type, digestion and lifestyle, along with your medical history. The doctor then prescribes herbal medicines, therapies, diet and lifestyle advice. The approach and treatments differ from conventional medicine, and a qualified Ayurvedic doctor will tell you when you also need a conventional specialist.

Dr. Jasna first listens to your symptoms and reviews your medical history, diet, sleep, digestion and daily routine. She then examines you, explains the condition and recommends a treatment plan. This may include medicines, therapies and lifestyle changes.

Bring your Emirates ID and insurance card, any recent reports, scans or prescriptions, and a list of all medicines and supplements you take. Knowing your full history helps Dr. Jasna plan treatment that is safe and suits you.

The number depends on your condition. Short-term concerns may need only a few visits, while long-standing problems usually need a longer course with regular reviews. Dr. Jasna checks your progress at each visit and adjusts the plan, so you know the expected duration after your first consultation.

Tell Dr. Jasna about every medicine and supplement you take so she can plan treatment safely around them. Do not stop any medicine prescribed by another doctor without their advice. Ayurvedic treatment is meant to support your care, and your other doctors stay informed where needed.

Dr. Jasna Jamal Shaju bases your treatment on a full consultation, not a fixed package. She reviews your symptoms, medical history, diet, sleep, digestion and daily routine, and considers your body type in Ayurvedic terms. From this she recommends herbal medicines, therapies and lifestyle advice that suit you. She reviews your progress at follow-up visits and adjusts the plan if needed, and she advises you if another specialist should be involved.

Check three things: a valid Dubai Health Authority licence, a recognised Ayurveda degree such as BAMS, and years of clinical experience. A good Ayurvedic doctor also explains your diagnosis and plan clearly. Dr. Jasna Jamal Shaju meets all three, with DHA and Ministry of Health UAE licences, a BAMS degree and 20+ years of practice.
